Exemption on Venice Access Fee From April 2024
We kindly inform you that on specific dates entry to the city of Venice is subject to payment of an access fee, unless the visitor falls into one of the categories that entitle them to exemption from payment.

From April 25th to July 14th, 2024, access to the city of Venice is subject to the payment of an access fee unless the visitor falls into one of the Exempt Categories.
The access fee is not charged between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. Registering and obtaining the appropriate exemption voucher is necessary to benefit from the exemption. Residents of the Municipality of Venice and individuals born in the Municipality of Venice are exempt from paying the access fee and are not required to obtain the exemption voucher; they can prove their exemption status by presenting a certifying document. Minors under the age of 14 are also exempt from the access fee; to prove their age, if not apparent, presentation of an identity document is accepted as sufficient proof. Holders of the European Disability Card and their accompanying caregivers are entitled to exemption from the Access Fee by presenting their card without the need for registration on the Portal.
The access fee refers to the fee introduced by the Municipality of Venice, which must be paid by occasional visitors on specific days in 2024 to access the ancient city of Venice.
The calendar indicates the days during 2024 when the access fee will be applied, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The access fee must be paid by anyone accessing the Ancient City, with exceptions for certain categories. It is not applicable to those passing through Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto, or Stazione Marittima without entering the Ancient City. In 2024, the access fee will not be applied to the minor islands of the Venice Lagoon.
The cost of the Venice access fee will be € 5 per day, with no reductions available.
